Wow, I haven’t updated the site for a while have I? I guess I’ve been too busy saving the world from the evils of stuff and stuff. Okay, maybe not. Actually, I’ve just been busy with Lilredhead Productions and other matters. Once Christmas break hit I started diving back into Batguy. But as I was editing, something came up. It seems the program I was using to chromo key just became outdated. FXhome released a complete overhauled update to the program at the end of December. So, I tried to resist the temptation of updating and to just get Batguy done with the current software I was using but I caved and took a look at the new software. I was amazed at the quality it outputted. I bit the bullet and bought it. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “what the hell does this is all mean and why do I care?”. Well, since this new software does such an excellent job, I am redoing everything I have done with the old software. So I’m basically starting all over from scratch as far as editing it concerned. I guess you could consider this bad if you’ve been anticipating the release of this movie because now the release date will be pushed back a bit more. However, I think this is very beneficial because the movie will now have a much better visual quality. Below is an example.
A shot of the Guy Cave using the old software. Notice how the yellow Guy Symbol logo on the uniform is purple. When in motion, the actor also has a weird pixilated look to him.
A shot of the Guy Cave using the new software. The actor is much more vibrant now because there is no need to darken to film to hide the green screen defects. Also… hey, the symbol is yellow yet the actor has a blue light on him which goes with the blue cave setting. Hopefully you can see the benefits to waiting longer for the release of this film. Since I am going back to editing this film full time, you can expect the return of the Batguy: Starts Post-Production Progress |
